Come sit with me a while

Rest your weary limbs

Sit here with me in the garden

And hear the little birds sing

All around is peaceful

Flowers nod their heads in the breeze

The gentle drone of the bumble bee

The rustling leaves of the trees

Come sit with me a while

Our daily tasks are done

Sit with me in the garden love

And bask in the late day sun

Soon it will be Autumn

And the golden leaves will fall

Winters winds will start to blow

And the snow will over all

Come sit with me a while

Old times we can recall

When our children played in the garden

And climbed the trees that are now so tall

Our grandchildren play in this garden now

And when they have families of their own

They will tell them about their grandparents

And our story will go on….
